Wines of the Bekaa, Lebanon

The Bekaa valley is an elevated geographic trough (3300 feet above sea level) situated between the western range and the eastern range of Lebanon's mountains. It possesses Lebanon's most fertile soils that are naturally rich in Potassium, Calcium and minerals. The Bekaa valley enjoys snowy and wet winter, and hot dry summers. These environmental characteristics, topped with an average of 300 sunny days a year, plus the superior wine grape cultivars used, all work in harmony to provide an exceptional terroir for wine making. No wonder why the Romans chose the Bekaa valley to build one of the biggest temples of Bacchus (Roman god of wine) ever built through out their empire. The enormous temple still stands today in the Bekaa town of Baalbeck.

The winery is situated in the town of Kab Elias, of the Bekaa valley, at 1000 meters above sea level.
